Order: 8 pieces of fried chicken (dark meat) and large fries
Total cost: $25.18
RATING
- Crispy and crunchy skin: 4/5 - nice crunchy breading
- Flavor of skin: 3/5 - wasn't the best but wasn't terrible either
- Flavor of chicken: 3/5 - again, bland but not terrible
- Lack of grease: 2/5 - very oily!
- Tender: 4/5 - soft and tender
Total: 3.2/5 - We were pretty disappointed with Win Win's new location, especially since we've eaten at their Richmond several times and the food has always been amazing! This time, it was greasy and just not very flavorful even though we ate it fresh there.
Notes:
- Their sauce selection is quite limited; it's all varying levels of "hot". It would be nice to have some garlic aioli, honey mustard etc (anything besides ketchup).
- Even though we waited almost 20 mins for our food, the fries didn't feel fresh at all; it was just a giant clump of oily, greasy limp fries.
- As mentioned earlier, we've been to their Steveston branch several times and the food was always amazing. Before we tried Chicken World, Win Win was our favorite fried chicken place in Vancouver but unfortunately, the new branch isn't the same. We'll definitely visit the old one again to compare.
